U.S. forces in Afghanistan to commemorate the September 11 attacks with a unique way. A total of 1,000 troops ran 9.11 miles at the main headquarters of U.S. troops at Bagram, Friday, 11 September 2009. A similar event was held at two other bases to commemorate the thousands of soldiers who died during the invasion of Afghanistan.
U.S. and allies forces first invaded Afghanistan in October 2001. The target is to overthrow the Taliban government that protected al-Qaeda leaders who planned the september 11 attacks in the two World Trade Center buildings in New York. American soldiers did this activity to commemorate the tragic event that killed many innocent people on September 11.
