Refrigerator with Android Operating System
Refrigerators are now getting smarter. The device was revealed Samsung's new model at the beginning of the month on the mat CES 2013. Fridge T9000 series supports applications that help the owner to browse recipes, create shopping lists and manage the expiration date of food products such as yogurt and milk.
Innovative Refrigerator made by the South Korean company is equipped with 10-inch touch screen and supports WiFi. This refrigerator also supports applications like Epicurious for recipes and Evernote for note.
"Refrigerators are present as a family liaison and kitchen. Fridge is another access point without the need to take a tablet or smartphone with you in areas where you cook or enjoy entertainment," said Warner Doell, vice president of Home Appliance Division of Samsung Canada.
The screen on this new fridge can display news, weather, and allows the owner to access Twitter. In addition, the screen can also display a calendar with Google Calendar integration and support for photo slideshows feature.
The fridge is running on the Android operating system. However, owners are not allowed to install other Android apps. Samsung T9000 will be available worldwide in the spring around March to June this year.
