New Fish Species in the Sea of Bali

Scientists from Conservation International claims to have discovered eight new species and one new species of coral in the waters of Bali. The new species, including eels and fish, damsel, that is a small fish with bright colors that are often wandering around stoney corals.

"We have conducted marine surveys in 33 places around the island of Bali. We have identified 952 fish, coral, and of which we found 8 new species,"said lead researcher Mark Van Nydeck Erdmann. The survey was conducted in several well-known tourist areas like Bali Tulamben is famous as the favorite dive sites, Nusa Dua, Gilimanuk and Pemuteran, at depths of 10 to 70 kilometers.

Mark claims to have not provided a name for the eight new species. But they are included in the genus Siphamia, Heteroconger, Apogon, Parapercis, Meiacanthus, Manonichthys, Grallenia and Pseudochromis. In the survey for two weeks, the research team also discovered a new species of coral reef Euphyllia or foam
