Google Manipulates Search Results

Google
Google has been in the investigation of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for 9 months over alleged manipulation of search results. Today, the internet giant has agreed to change some business practices that could potentially reduce the search results.

Google said that it will allow site owners to block their pages from search results specials. Suppose a user tried to find a comparison of goods through Google Shopping, the search results would be less.

The change comes after the FTC reprimanded Google not to abuse the online content that comes from shopping or travel sites to be displayed in a special search hers.

FTC worried if Google can act as a hub for certain services and the site had no way to resist, the creator of the site and their funding sources are likely to be difficult because it is dominated by the Internet giant.

In short, the hotel review site owners may not want to review his show on the page Google Travel, Google Travel fearing visitors no longer visit the original site

Mozilla Developed the Apps Store

Mozilla was a serious climb to build its own operating system project that is named Boot to Gecko (B2G). It is expected that Mozilla will soon announce his new platform at the Mobile World Congress 2012 next week.

B2G is itself a cross-platform operating system and device, because it's based mobile browser that supports HTML5. Well, it was rumored that B2G would require a separate application, which means that Mozilla will bring Mozilla Apps Store or a Marketplace to distribute their applications.

"We will soon announce the Mozilla Web Apps platform, which is a tripartite approach to developers to build applications to a higher level," Mozilla said in a statement.  Although Mozilla has explicitly announced the presence of online stores, it is expected that the Marketplace will also provide a neutral territory for the mobile operating system to come.

The presence of new services is of course out simboisi mutualism for mozilla and developers, especially with the theme that it is web apps, to save costs. The company is hoping that the combination of open standards for development will be an attractive approach for developers.

A recent survey conducted showed that 40 percent of sites in England were not visited at all by the user. The study shows that some internet sites in the UK failed to attract users from both online advertising as well as from a free listing on Google and other search engines. The survey reveals that 91 percent of the company's business in the UK failed to make advertising pay-per-click on the internet.

A survey conducted by ClickScene, found that 10 thousand of websites registered in the UK, only 9 percent who used ppc advertising, like Google AdWords.  Surprisingly, 40 percent of these sites are not being visited at all, whether it be through advertising or ppc search results from search engines. This indicates that the patrons may be family and friends of the site builder.

"The Internet has become popular for over 10 years and now people use it as part of their lives," said Andrew Willis, Managing Director of ClickScene.  "But in business, not necessarily beneficial, there are about one million new domains registered in the UK in 2010. But if there is no change to this problem, many sites would be empty of visitors in the future," said Andrew.

ClickScene recently has developed a free service that checks the website content and examine how they operate. The new service is said to create an attractive site visitors and prospective customers.  There are about 10 thousand sites officially registered in the UK which is checked by the service between February 21 and March 3, 2011.

Each site is checked based on the results of the 40 million keywords and phrases. 9100 site does not appear in the advertisement of a pay-per-click, 4047 site does not get visitors from search listings and search engine sites do not appear in the 4002 advertising pay-per-click and do not receive visits from search engine listings.

Some Browsers are Vulnerable to Hacker Attack

As many as 8 out of 10 web browsers were vulnerable to criminals burglarized because rarely updated. Thus the findings of researchers who successfully obtained. Most users claimed to have never committed a basic precautions by installing the patch to find security holes found in the browser. This will indirectly make the browser is vulnerable to attack.

This research was conducted by the Qualys, U.S. security company. This finding is made after the government estimates losses from crime to reach 3.1 billion euros per year.  If not included Plug-ins, security in browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera and Safari, not less vulnerable. Only 25 percent of the browser successfully tested in January and then claimed to have weaknesses that are not patched. This is because the browser is always updated automatically.

But the feature plug-ins, software add-ons that are owned by almost all web browsers for additional features such as video and interactive, was allegedly not very often updated automatically so that makes the user at risk. Plug-in with the target of cyber crime is Oracle's highest, with the percentage of approximately 40 percent of potential hacking. While the Adobe Reader plug-in, which lets users view documents in PDF format in the browser Windows, was second with 32 percent of the potential safety and need to be updated most frequently.

Apple's Quicktime media player plug-ins are third on the level of network security vulnerabilities approximately 25 percent.  In January, the giant networking company Cisco claims that security vulnerabilities occur in the Java software, and it is very profitable for a hacker who can control the browser from the remote prison and allows cyber criminals to steal sensitive data such as bank account information of users.

Cisco also said that Java will remain a potential target of hackers because the users are not too much attention to the importance of patching the Java. Java update itself last patched last October with about 29 issues of vulnerability, called Oracle very critical. Security experts expect the latest generation of browser and website to help solve this problem since the introduction of HTML5 can be interpreted, many of the functions provided by plug-in will work on browsers automatically updated.
